Too low they build

What “What we wanted to be” is about (chapter intro):

How often do you think about your passions? What you’re really, truly passionate about in life? And no, I don’t mean how you’re passionate about barbecue, or Grey’s Anatomy, or some person. I’m talking about those solemn and lifelong passions, those things in your life that you’ve been desiring and thinking deeply about since you were a kid or young adult.

Maybe you’ve already pursued, and achieved, what you’re passionate about. You may be living your passions in your current occupation. If that is you, I give you a deep bow! You are what this book is all about.

The unfortunate thing is that too many people know what their passions are, and they can point to them sitting up on that dusty shelf. Or, life has just overtaken them so much that they can’t even remember what their passions are, or if they ever had any. It is for these individuals that I write the following Life Tips.

“A good day ain’t got no rain. A bad day is when I lie in bed and think of things that might have been.” ~ Unknown song lyric

“A man who becomes conscious of the responsibility he bears toward a human being who affectionately waits for him, or to an unfinished work, will never be able to throw away his life. He knows the why for his existence, and will be able to bear almost any how.” ~ Viktor Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
